Woolfi Care & Cleaning Guide

Caring for Your Woolfi Naturally

Woolfi slippers are crafted from sustainably sourced New Zealand wool and designed to bring lasting comfort to your everyday routine. Because they are made from natural fibres and materials, a little thoughtful care will help keep them looking and feeling beautiful for years to come.

Natural wool is incredibly resilient, breathable, and naturally odour resistant, making Woolfi slippers wonderfully low maintenance.

Everyday Woolfi Care

Airing Your Slippers

Wool naturally regulates moisture and odours, so one of the best ways to refresh your Woolfis is simply to let them air out regularly.

We recommend:

  • placing them in a dry, ventilated area overnight
  • avoiding damp storage spaces
  • allowing them to fully dry naturally if exposed to moisture

Avoid direct heat such as heaters, fireplaces, or strong sunlight, as this can dry out both the wool and natural rubber.

General Cleaning Tips

For light dirt or marks:

  • gently wipe with a damp cloth
  • use mild wool-safe soap if needed
  • avoid soaking the wool
  • allow slippers to air dry naturally

Please do not place your Woolfi slippers in the washing machine or dryer.

Machine washing can affect:

  • the wool structure
  • the shape of the slipper
  • the natural rubber sole

Removing Stains

Wool Upper Stains

If a spill occurs, it is best to deal with it immediately.

We recommend:

  1. Gently dab the area with a clean cloth or paper towel
  2. Avoid rubbing while wet, as this can push the stain deeper into the fibres
  3. Use a warm damp cloth with a small amount of wool-friendly soap if needed
  4. Allow slippers to air dry naturally

Wool contains natural lanolin, which helps repel many everyday spills when treated quickly.

Sole Stains

Suede Soles

For suede soles:

  • dab gently with a slightly damp cloth
  • avoid over-wetting
  • do not scrub aggressively
  • allow to air dry fully before wearing

A suede brush can also help remove surface build-up and restore the texture.

Caring for Woolfi Soles

Natural Crepe Rubber Soles

Our natural crepe rubber soles are designed to feel soft, flexible, and comfortable underfoot.

Like all natural materials, they benefit from occasional care.

Everyday Care

  • Lightly brush off dust and debris after wear
  • Wipe marks with a damp cloth
  • Allow to dry naturally if wet

Deep Cleaning Crepe Rubber Soles

Over time, natural rubber may slightly darken or feel tacky due to exposure to dust, flooring surfaces, oils, or environmental conditions. This is completely natural.

To refresh the soles:

You will need:

  • warm water
  • a small amount of baking soda
  • a soft brush or sponge

Cleaning Method

  1. Create a gentle paste using warm water and baking soda
  2. Massage gently in small circular motions
  3. Wipe clean with a damp cloth
  4. Allow soles to air dry fully, preferably overnight

What to Avoid

To protect your Woolfis, avoid:

  • machine washing
  • soaking in water
  • bleach or harsh chemicals
  • strong detergents
  • prolonged direct sunlight
  • direct heat sources

Natural rubber can react to harsh chemicals, which may affect the surface finish of the sole.

Fibre Shedding

A small amount of fibre shedding may occur initially as the wool settles and adapts to your feet.

This is completely normal and usually reduces quickly with wear.

You can:

  • gently brush away loose fibres
  • lightly vacuum the inside if needed
  • allow time for the wool to naturally settle

Long-Term Wear & Longevity

Woolfi slippers are designed to age naturally and beautifully over time.

With regular gentle care, your Woolfis will continue to:

  • soften comfortably
  • mould to your feet
  • remain breathable and warm
  • develop their own unique character

Natural materials are never completely uniform — and that is part of what makes every pair special.

Insoles

We recommend adding an insole every 6-12 months to keep underfoot softness and freshness. You can find these here.

Absolutely. We offer exchanges within our return period provided items are unworn and in original condition.

Are Woolfi slippers made from real wool?

Yes. Woolfi slippers are made using sustainably sourced New Zealand wool.

Where are Woolfi slippers made?

Our slippers are handmade by skilled artisan partners in Nepal using traditional craftsmanship techniques.

Can I wear Woolfi slippers outside?

Many Woolfi styles feature natural crepe rubber soles, designed for light indoor and outdoor wear.

Do Woolfi slippers have arch support?
